Erwin Hameseder
Erwin Hameseder (born May 28, 1956 in Mühldorf in Lower Austria) is an Austrian manager and militia officer with the rank of major general .
Life
Education and career
After graduating from high school , he completed training as an officer from 1975 to 1987, was appointed colonel in the director's service in 2002 and promoted to brigadier of the armed forces in 2006 . He describes the army as the “best management school”.
He also began to study law at the University of Vienna and in 1987 joined the legal department of Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien . In 1988 he switched to investment management, where he became division manager in 1991. In 1994 he became managing director of Raiffeisen-Holding Niederösterreich-Wien and from 2001 to 2012 General Director of the holding company. From 2007 to 2012 he was also CEO of Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien. Since May 2012 he has been chairman of Raiffeisen-Holding NÖ-Wien .
In April 2015, Defense Minister Gerald Klug appointed him militia commissioner. In August 2017, following a proposal by Hans Peter Doskozil, he was promoted to major general , which was unusual for militia officers in Austria . The career of militia officers with the rank of brigadier used to be considered over.
In March 2020, it was Finance Minister Gernot Bluemel the Council of Ministers as a member of the General Council of the Austrian National Bank proposed for a period of five years.
Erwin Hameseder is married and has two sons.
