Martina Salomon (2013)

Martina Salomon (* 1960 in Linz ) is an Austrian journalist . She has been editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper Kurier since October 2018 .

Live and act

Salomon graduated from the Bundesrealgymnasium Traun , after which she studied German and journalism at the University of Salzburg and received her doctorate in philosophy in 1986 .

She then worked as a freelancer for the ORF regional studio in Upper Austria and for the Upper Austrian News . 1983 to 1988 she was domestic policy - editor in Vienna editors of the Tiroler Tageszeitung . In 1989 she switched to the standard . From 2004 she was head of the internal affairs department of the press . Most recently, she wrote the weekly column in the press on Sunday, “Solomon - The domestic political word for Sunday”. This weekly column has been published every Saturday in the daily newspaper Kurier since October 2010 .

On October 1, 2010, Salomon switched to the courier , where he held the position of deputy editor-in-chief under Helmut Brandstätter . In November 2012 Salomon also took on the role of head of the “Economy” department. She regularly moderates the courier city talks and is among other things. a. Guest journalist in the ORF press hour . At the beginning of September 2018, she was appointed editor-in-chief by the Supervisory Board on October 1, 2018.

Salomon is married to the TV journalist and ORF presenter Gerhard Jelinek and has two grown sons.

She has been Vice President of the Concordia Press Club since June 2014 .
