The Hughes Point is a steep and rocky headland in the West Antarctic Ellsworth Land . It is located on the western flank of the mouth of the Exum Glacier in the Jones Mountains .
Participants in a University of Minnesota expedition to the Jones Mountains from 1960 to 1961 mapped and named them. It is named after Wayne B. Hughes, who was Deputy Representative of the United States Antarctic Research Program at McMurdo Station during the same period .
