Hugo Bantau (born January 9, 1890 in Breslau , Lower Silesia , † probably 1945 ) was a German portrait and landscape painter , graphic artist and etcher .

Life

His work mainly includes portraits and landscape paintings. He also designed bookplates .

Bantau worked in his hometown of Breslau. There he studied at the Königliche Kunst- und Kunstgewerbeschule with Carl Ernst Morgenstern , Christian Morgenstern's father , and Arnold Busch .
