Hugo Facundo Carrillo Cavero , even Ugo Carrillo Cavero Facundo (* 30th October 1956 in Anco-Huallo , Province of Chincheros , region Apurímac ) is a Peruvian Quechua - poet , singer, anthropologist and politician. From 2011 to 2016 he represented the Huancavelica region in the Peruvian parliament for Gana Perú .

Life

Hugo Carrillo grew up in the Quechua village of Uripa in the Anco-Huallo district in the Apurímac region. He studied anthropology at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima and graduated in 1982.

Hugo Carrillo is the author of numerous songs and poems in Chanka Quechua , which he published in the poetry volumes Yaku unupa yuyaynin (2009) and Puyupa wayrapa ninapawan musqukusqanmanta (2010). As a singer, he also performs traditional Quechua songs.

In the parliamentary elections in Peru on April 10, 2011, he received 15,533 preferential votes as a candidate for the Gana Perú party in the Huancavelica region and thus moved into the Peruvian Congress on July 26, 2011 for the 2011-2016 legislative period .
