Hugo Edward Ryan

Hugo Edward Ryan (born April 25, 1888 in Kyabram , † November 13, 1977 ) was an Australian bishop .

Ryan was ordained a priest on June 17, 1916. On July 13, 1938, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Bishop of Townsville . The Apostolic Delegate of Australia, Archbishop Giovanni Panico , donated him episcopal ordination on October 18, 1938, with the assistance of the Coadjutor Archbishop of Sydney , Norman Thomas Gilroy, and his predecessor, Bishop Terence Bernard McGuire .

On October 14, 1967, he resigned his episcopate and was appointed titular bishop of Nigizubi . On October 13, 1976 he renounced his titular bishopric and became emeritus bishop of Townsville.
