Hugo Knorr
Hugo Knorr (born November 17, 1834 in Königsberg , † September 29, 1904 in Karlsruhe ) was a German landscape and marine painter , draftsman and art professor .
Life
At the age of 18, Knorr came to the Königsberg Art Academy in the fall of 1852 , where he was mainly concerned with landscape painting . Among other things, Carl Scherres was his fellow student there. Knorr later became a master student of landscape painter August Behrendsen . Luise Neumann was a student .
In 1875 Knorr accepted a position at the Polytechnic in Karlsruhe and worked there as a professor.
reception
Knorr's oil paintings mostly show the coastal landscape of Norway , which is depicted in all its grandeur and grandeur of the seasons. Another focus of Knorr's are his chalk and charcoal drawings, with which he congenially illustrated several literary works.
