Hugo Méndez

Hugo Méndez Afonso (* 1930 or 1931 ; † August 2, 2009 ) was a Uruguayan politician .

Hugo Méndez, who from 1955 worked for 32 years in various positions within the Intendencia Municipal of San José , held the position of Director de Obras y de Parques y Jardines , among other things . He was also the coordinator of the Juntas Locales . From August 31, 1984 to February 15, 1985, and again in 2000, he took over the post of Intendente of the Department of San José on an interim basis . He died at the age of 78 after a long illness.
