Anja Schiemann (lawyer)

Anja Schiemann (* 1967 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe as Anja Sya ) is a German lawyer and head of the “Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law and Criminal Policy” department at the German Police University .

Life

Between 1987 and 1992 Schiemann studied law at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , where she also completed her legal clerkship at the Frankfurt am Main Regional Court until 1995.

In the same year she was admitted to the bar and took a job as an editor at the publishing house CH Beck . In 2000 she did her doctorate with Klaus Lüderssen , and Schiemann was also the editor in charge of the criminal law department of the Neue Juristische Wochenschrift (NJW).

In parallel to her work as an editor, she was a research assistant at the chair for criminal law , criminology and forensic psychology of Dirk Fabricius between 2001 and 2006 . She then worked as a lawyer in Euskirchen until 2009 . From 2010 to February 2014 she worked in a law firm in Düsseldorf .

Since 2012 she has been a private lecturer at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. In the same year she completed her habilitation on indefinite culpability assessments and received the Venia legendi for criminal law, criminal procedural law and criminology.

On February 13, 2014, Gerd Thielmann , Vice President of the German Police University, presented her with the certificate of appointment as a university professor.
