The Hugo Pfohe GmbH is an automobile trading company and a run in the third generation family business based in Hamburg and nine offices in northern Germany .

history

In 1919, the export merchant Hugo Pfohe founded the company in Hamburg and traded in automobiles of the brands Fafnir and Presto . The company grew and other brands such as Goliath , Hansa , Oldsmobile , the American brand Hansa Essex and the Austrian brand Steyr followed. Demand for the German brand Borgward also increased and was added to the range. In 1961 the Borgward Group went bankrupt. On January 1, 1965, a contract with Ford came into effect and everything now focused on this one manufacturer.

In 1991 the subsidiary MOTO-PFOHE was founded in Sofia , Bulgaria . After opening further locations in northern Germany and Bulgaria, the medium-sized company continued to grow. The portfolio has now been distributed across several brands. Today Hugo Pfohe GmbH carries the following brands: Ford , Mazda , Kia , Mini , BMW , Jaguar and Land Rover . In December 2017, the Bulgarian subsidiary MOTO-PFOHE was sold to Sumitomo Corporation .
