Hugo von Floreffe

Hugo von Floreffe was a Middle Latin author and Premonstratensian monk who worked in Floreffe (near Namur ) around 1228 .

life and work

Hugo von Floreffe (Latin: Hugo Floreffiensis , also: Floreffensis , French: Hugues de Floreffe , English: Hugh of Floreffe ) was a monk in the Premonstratensian Abbey of Floreffe in what is now Belgium. On behalf of the abbot Jean de Hoioul, who was in office from 1220 to 1239, he wrote the Vita of Blessed Jutta von Huy in Middle Latin, which has recently been translated into English and French and published again.
