Ernestas Šetkus (born May 25, 1985 in Tauragė ) is a Lithuanian football player .

Career

society

Ernestas Šetkus played in the Lithuanian A Lyga from 2005 . After starting his career in his hometown with FK Tauras Tauragė , the goalkeeper moved in 2005 within Lithuania to VMFD Žalgiris Vilnius . In 2009 he moved back to Tauras Tauragė for a season . His last season in Lithuania was back in 2010 in the capital Vilnius . From August 2010, Šetkus began his career outside of his Baltic homeland. Initially active in Cyprus for Olympiacos Nicosia , Šetkus then played in Bulgaria for Botew Plovdiv and in Belarus for FK Homel . After another stopover in Cyprus from 2013 to 2014 with Nea Salamis Famagusta , Šetkus has been playing for AO Kerkyra in Greece since 2014 .

For the 2015/16 season he moved to the Turkish first division club Sivasspor . After this club missed relegation at the end of the season, Šetkus left him again and moved to ADO Den Haag .

National team

Ernestas Šetkus made his debut for the Lithuanian national soccer team in March 2011, in the international match against Poland . The goalkeeper was in the first team in the national team coached by Raimondas Žutautas in the 2-0 victory at the S.Dariaus and S.Girėno stadium in Kaunas . At the beginning of the second half, Šetkus was exchanged for Žydrūnas Karčemarskas , the actual goalkeeper. Šetkus took part in the 2012 Baltic Cup with the senior national team.
