Žydrūnas Karčemarskas (born May 24, 1983 in Alytus ) is a Lithuanian football goalkeeper .

Career

society

Karčemarskas began his football career in his hometown with FK Dainava Alytus . There he played until 2000 before he was poached by Polonija Vilnius . After only one year he moved to Žalgiris Vilnius in A Lyga . There they became aware of him in Russia and Karčemarskas got a contract with Dynamo Moscow in 2003, where he was active until 2010. Since January 2010 he has been playing for Gaziantepspor in Turkey .

In the summer of 2016, he left Gaziantepspor after six seasons and moved on to the capital club Osmanlıspor FK within the Süper Lig .

National team

Karčemarskas was the goalkeeper of the Lithuanian U21 team. In 2004 he replaced Gintaras Staučė as the goalkeeper of the senior national team . He was given special attention when on September 2, 2006, the newly crowned world champion Italy only managed a 1-1 draw against Lithuania, as Karčemarskas held on that day.
