Huizong Lama Monastery

The Huizong Lama Monastery ( Chinese  彙 宗 寺  /  汇 宗 寺 , Pinyin Huìzōng sì ; Mongolian Köke sume / Khökh süm; English Huizong Lamasery, Huizong Temple, Huizong Monastery etc.) in Duolun County of the Xilin Gol Federation , Inner Mongolia , People's Republic of China , is a monastery temple of the Gelug School (Yellow Hats) of Tibetan Buddhism and its headquarters in Inner Mongolia . The complex of the Huizong Monastery includes the Huizong Temple, the Zhangjia Residence of the Living Buddha 章嘉 仓 and the Shanyin Temple 善 因 寺 (Mongolian Shira sume).

The Dolon Alliance Meeting (or Kangxi Alliance Meeting) took place in the Huizong Lama Monastery in May 1691 , at which the Chalcha officially recognized the Chinese supremacy of the Qing dynasty . In memory of this, the Manchu Emperor Kangxi had the monastery built for 100,000 tael. It is said that the Huizong Lama Monastery was second only to the Potala Palace in those years . The main gate, Maitreya Buddha Hall and Zhangjia Residence of the Living Buddha are in good condition.

The Huizong Lama Monastery ( Huizong si ) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (5-277) since 2001 .
