Alexander Michailowitsch Suglobow ( Russian Александр Михайлович Суглобов ; born January 15, 1982 in Elektrostal , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player who played for the New Jersey Devils and Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League and for the HK Spartak Moscow , HK CSKA Moscow and Lokomotive Yaroslavl were active in the Russian Super League and Continental Hockey League respectively .
Career
Alexander Suglobow began his career in 1998 at HK CSKA Moscow , where he was under contract until 1999. In the 1999/2000 season he was signed by Lokomotive Yaroslavl , where he played until 2003 with two short breaks. In the NHL Entry Draft 2000 , the New Jersey Devils selected him in the second round in 56th place, for which he completed two games in the National Hockey League . From 2006 to 2007 the Russian was on the ice 16 times for the Toronto Maple Leafs , otherwise he was mostly used in the North American farm teams. In 2007 he decided to return to Russia, first for five games at SKA Saint Petersburg and then HK CSKA Moscow, for which he played until 2010.
In the 2010/11 season Suglobov played in the KHL for his ex-clubs HK Spartak Moscow and HK CSKA Moscow. The following season he was initially committed by Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod . After four games, his contract was terminated on October 3, 2011. Just two days later, however, he moved to league rivals HK Sibir Novosibirsk .
From May 2012 he was under contract with HK Traktor Chelyabinsk and completed 15 KHL games for the club until November of the same year before he returned to Spartak Moscow.
International
With the Russian U20 national team , Alexander Suglobow took part in the 2002 Junior World Cup. He also played seven games at the 2003 World Cup , scoring three goals.
