Hulan

Hulan ( 呼蘭 區  /  呼兰 区 , Hūlán Qū ) is a municipality in the sub-provincial city of Harbin in the Chinese province of Heilongjiang . The city district has an area of ​​2,197 km² and has around 620,179 inhabitants (end of 2010).

Hulan in literature

Hulan is the birthplace of the famous Chinese writer Xiao Hong (1911–1942), who appeared in German in her homeland with the book Hulan He Zhuan (呼兰河 传), translated by Ruth Keen as "Tales of the Hulan River" Monument set.
