Shangzhi
Shangzhi ( Chinese 尚志市 , Pinyin Shàngzhì Shì ) is an independent Chinese city in the northeastern province of Heilongjiang . It has 620,000 inhabitants (end of 2004) and an area of 8,895 km². Shangzhi is 124 km from the center of the provincial capital Harbin and is itself part of its administrative area.
Administrative structure
At the community level, Shangzhi consists of ten large communities , five communities and two nationality communities. These are:
- Shangzhi Municipality ( 尚志 鎮 / 尚志 镇 ), seat of the city government;
- Greater community Heilonggong ( 黑龍宮鎮 / 黑龙宫镇 );
- Lianghe Municipality ( 亮 河鎮 / 亮 河镇 );
- Greater community Mao'ershan ( 帽兒山鎮 / 帽儿山镇 );
- Greater community Qingyang ( 慶陽鎮 / 庆阳镇 );
- Greater community Shitouhezi ( 石頭河子鎮 / 石头河子镇 );
- Large parish consecration ( 葦 河鎮 / 苇 河镇 );
- Greater community Yabuli ( 亞布力鎮 / 亚布力镇 );
- Greater community Yimianpo ( 一面坡鎮 / 一面坡镇 );
- Greater community Yuanbao ( 元寶鎮 / 元宝镇 );
- Municipality Changshou ( 長壽鄉 / 长寿乡 );
- Community Laojieji ( 老街基鄉 / 老街基乡 );
- Mayan Township ( 馬 延 鄉 / 马 延 乡 );
- Community Wujimi ( 烏吉密鄉 / 乌吉密乡 );
- Municipality Zhen ( 珍珠山鄉 / 珍珠山乡 );
- Hedong Parish of Koreans ( 河東 朝鮮族 鄉 / 河东 朝鲜族 乡 );
- Community Yuchi the Koreans ( 魚池朝鮮族鄉 / 鱼池朝鲜族乡 ).
The city was previously called Zhuhe ( 珠 河 ). It was renamed Shangzhi in 1946 in honor of the resistance fighter against the Japanese occupation, Zhao Shangzhi .
The most famous place in the city is the Yabuli Ski Center ( 亞布力 / 亚布力 ), which is the largest in Asia and the third largest in the world.
