Wuchang (Harbin)

Wuchang ( Chinese 五常市 , Pinyin Wǔcháng Shì ) is an independent city in the administrative area of the sub-provincial city of Harbin in the Chinese province of Heilongjiang . It has an area of 7512 km² and approx. 980,000 inhabitants (end of 2009).

The city is the birthplace of actress Jayne Meadows (1919-2015).
