Acheng
Acheng ( Chinese 阿 城區 / 阿 城区 , Pinyin Āchéng Qū ) - until October 2006: Acheng City - is a district of the sub-provincial city of Harbin in the northeast Chinese province of Heilongjiang . Acheng has an area of 2,445 km² and approx. 580,000 inhabitants (end of 2009).
history
The original name was Ashihe after the Ashi River , which flows through the eastern part of the city. Acheng was founded as a district in 1909 and received city rights in 1989 . In 2006 the merger with Harbin took place.
Cultural monuments
Five kilometers south of Acheng are the remains of an old walled city. It is believed that these are the remains of Huining , which was the capital of the Jin Dynasty from 1122 to 1153 and served as the provincial capital after 1161. The site of Shangjing Huiningfu ( 金上京會寧府遺址 / 金上京会宁府遗址 , Jin Shangjing Huining fǔ yízhǐ ) and Yagou rock carvings of human figures ( 亞溝石刻 / 亚沟石刻 , Yagou Shike ) the Jurchen available since 1982 and 1988 on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China .
economy
Acheng lies between a hilly area in the southeast and the Songhua Jiang plain in the northwest and is surrounded by fertile and productive land. The main agricultural products are corn , soybeans , wheat , rice and industrial plants such as flax , sugar beet and garlic with purple skin. Major industrial buildings include a sugar refinery , brewery , steel rolling mill, and polyester fiber and electronic relay factories .
traffic
The district is connected to Harbin in the northwest and Mudanjiang in the southeast via the Suifenhe – Manzhouli motorway and the Harbin-Suifenhe railway line .
