Hulkoff is a Swedish metal band around the head and namesake of the project, Pär Hulkoff . He acts as a singer, guitarist and keyboard player and writes lyrics and music.

In addition to front man Hulkoff, the group consists of drummer Anders Johansson and his son Niklas as bassist, with Kalle Johansson, another son, Anders' being added to the live support.

style

Apart from the “Hulkoff” project, Pär Hulkoff is the front man of Raubtier . Anders Johansson previously played with Yngwie Malmsteen and Hammerfall .

The debut album Kven , released in 2017, reached number 37 on the Swedish charts and stayed there for a week. Hulkoff's texts are mostly historically and mythologically inspired. Here are Norse , Old and New Gothic , ancient Greek and Scythian and althunnische words and phrases woven.

The group's music is often described as mixing different styles of metal. Johan Hagberg from the Swedish metal magazine Rocknytt the genre Hulkoffs describes as "norrländsk metal" ( norrländischer Metal ).

Some critics see similarities with the music of Sabaton , in fact his singer Joakim Brodén can also be heard in the song Ibor & Aio on Kven . Following other critics, Hulkoff sounds "almost identical" to Predator, Pär Hulkoff's main band. For Hagberg, Hulkoff's music is superior to the predator.
