Par Hulkoff

Kurt Pär Einar Hulkoff (born August 25, 1980 in Karungi ) is a Swedish musician and singer specializing in metal and country . He has been the front man of the band Raubtier since 2008 and head of the Hulkoff project since 2017 .

Life

Hulkoff was born in Karungi in 1980 and has a brother. In 1989 he was given a guitar, attended the city music school for six months and soon began writing songs. At the school in Karungi he founded his first band with another guitarist and a drummer, and others followed at the high school in Haparanda. He later played in the band Hunter Killer, which broke up after three appearances. Around the turn of the millennium, Hulkoff played guitar in the Belgian progressive metal band Karyan, and in 2001 as Pärka Kankanranta for the Swedish power metal band The Storyteller . From 2002 to 2004 he was lead guitarist in the power metal band Viperine , in which Mathias Lind also played. The band released a demo recording with three tracks only the album The Predator Awakens . Even here, Hulkoff wrote texts with similar references as later with Raubtier and occasionally also sang.

In 2002 he was lead guitarist in the power metal band Winterlong, in which Thorbjörn Englund was bassist and later singer. Englund later played bass with Predator. From 2005 Hulkoff played the guitar as Payre Hulkoffgarden for Atomkraft . In 2008 Hulkoff founded the band Raubtier with the drummer Mathias Lind, with whom he had previously played for Viperine. In this band he is guitarist, keyboard player and singer. Hulkoff directed and produced the video for Sverige's Elit .

With the band Raubtier and the Scar Symmetry bassist Kenneth Seil, he has also formed the country project Bourbon Boys since 2012 . His project Hulkoff, which has existed since 2017, consists of Anders Johansson and his son Niklas . The group has released four singles and the album Kven so far , which were mixed and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren . The Russian violinist Misha Talanov can also be heard on the recordings . In contrast to the lyrics of Raubtier, those of the group are all written in English.

Hulkoff is married and was an infantryman in the Swedish Army. He goes hunting , mainly with a bow , runs a small hunting business and is the owner of sled dogs . He owns the registered company Einar Productions. Hulkoff considers himself a member of the Kvennian people.

Texts

Hulkoff writes the lyrics for all of his groups. His texts often deal with military, mythological and apocalyptic topics. A militarized image of honor, masculinity and freedom is often described here. Excessive alcohol consumption is also often discussed. Other motives are violent hatred and thoughts of revenge. In addition, many of his texts deal with the current zeitgeist, with Hulkoff, among other things , resorting to huntsman motifs in order to portray rural life as better than in the city.
