Jonas Mats Kjellgren (born July 4, 1977 in Avesta ) is a Swedish multi-instrumentalist and singer in the metal genre . He also works as a sound engineer and music producer . Since 2011 he has been the bass player for the band Raubtier .

Life

Kjellgren formed his first band in 1987 at the age of ten, it was called Ice-Snake. From 1994 to 2001 Kjellgren sang in the band Dellamorte, and from 1997 to 2004 he was singer in the band Carnal Forge , with whom he released five albums. He played guitar for Centinex from 1998 to 2006 and for Scar Symmetry from 2004 to 2013 . Since 2011 he has been playing bass with Raubtier.

Since 2002, Kjellgren has been involved in numerous albums and singles as a producer, mixer and sound engineer. He owns the Black Lounge Studios in Pärlby , where many metal bands record, mix and master, but Kjellgren does most of the productions in Peter Tägtgren's Abyss Studio .

Kjellgren was a guest musician on the albums End of Disclosure , Coming Home and Skills in Pills by his bands Hypocrisy , Pain and Lindemann . In addition, he was responsible for the mastering of numerous Hypocrisy and Pain recordings and for many productions by Tägtgren such as Batavi by Heidevolk and Heroes , Carolus Rex and The Last Stand by Sabaton. In addition, the two have played in the blues band Roadhouse Diet since 2013 , in which Kjellgren sings and plays the guitar and Tägtgren plays the drums. For Roadhouse Diet he composes all the songs and writes almost all the lyrics. His wife, Emma Kjellgren, wrote two lyrics on the Roadhouse Diet album Ain't Got the Time .

Since 2012 he has been playing in the country band Bourbon Boys with Raubtier members Pär Hulkoff and Mathias Lind as well as bassist Kenneth Seil, whom he still knows from his time at Scar Symmetry .

Instruments

In addition to singing, Kjellgren has mastered numerous instruments. He mostly plays the guitar, preferably a seven-string guitar, on which he also masters the slide technique . Often Kjellgren can also be heard as a bassist, less often as an organist , keyboardist and mandolin player and especially with Bourbon Boys on the banjo , harmonica and bagpipes .
