Truth Corroded is an Australian death and thrash metal band from Adelaide that was formed in 1996. In their career, the band held concerts with Lamb of God , Arch Enemy , Behemoth , In Flames , Chimaira , Sepultura , Death Angel , Municipal Waste , Suffocation , Thy Art Is Murder and The Amenta, among others .

history

The band was formed in 1996 and consisted of bassist Damon Shaw, drummer Adam Milburn, guitarist Mark Lennard and singer Simon Durrant. The latter was soon replaced by Jason North. In the following years the band played their first appearances and also played together with Fear Factory , Strapping Young Lad , Sick of It All and Vision of Disorder and appeared in January 2000 on the Big Day Out . In 2001 the group played on Metal for the Brain and released their debut album, Believe, that same year . In 2002 the band played at the Grounded Festival, the Overcranked and the High Voltage Festival. In September 2002 drummer Milburn left the band. Later he committed on 14 January 2003 at the age of 29 years suicide . After a ten-month hiatus, the band returned live in 2003, with guitarist Corey Grieve and drummer Matt Barnett as new members. The release of another album was planned for early 2005, but the release was delayed because drummer Barnett had left the band in January 2005. As a short-term replacement, Chris Canini came to the cast before he left the band and Barnett returned to the band in July, until a suitable drummer had been found. Then Sven Hentschel joined as a drummer, where he was seen live for the first time in early 2006. In 2005 the album Our Enemy Is the Weapon was released . In 2006 the band went on tour, performing with Dark Tranquility and playing Metal for the Brain. After a festival appearance in Singapore in early 2007, Liam Okninski joined the band as the new drummer. In March 2008 the next album Upon the Warlords Crawl was released . In July, Okninski announced his departure from the band. In October the band went on tour through China and Thailand . In 2011 the album Worship the Bled was released on which Kevin Talley could be heard as the drummer, although Kieran Murray was already a permanent drummer in the band. Since bassist Shaw Talley is a death metal drummer, he can bring in the extreme style better than Murray. Murray then only has to replay the parts written by Talley live, which he can do perfectly. The album was mixed and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren ( Scar Symmetry ). The release was followed by tours of Australia, Japan and Southeast Asia and the band played with groups such as Fear Factory, Forbidden and Warbringer . In addition, the band went on a European tour together with Malevolent Creation , Krisiun , Vital Remains , Origin and Psycroptic . The band then worked on their next album, The Saviors Slain, in 2012 and 2013 . The album was re-recorded with Kevin Talley in San Antonio , Texas . The vocals and the electric guitar tracks were recorded in their home in South Australia. The album was mixed and mastered by Mark Lewis at Audiohammer Studio in Florida ( DevilDriver , Whitechapel , The Black Dahlia Murder ). The album featured Craig Locicero from Forbidden and Bret Hoffman from Malevolent Creation as guests . The album was also released worldwide on AFM Records .

style

In the rock-hard interview, bassist Greg Shaw stated that he would find the term "extreme thrash metal" the most appropriate for the mix of death and thrash metal that the band plays. The band was influenced by groups like Slayer , Sepultura, Malevolent Creation, Dark Angel , Testament , Kreator and Obituary . Later, more modern influences such as Neurosis were added. According to Andreas Stappert from Rock Hard, the band on The Saviors Slain play a mixture of modern Thrash and Death Metal and rely on technical demands, groove and catchiness.
