The Amenta is an Australian industrial and death metal band from Sydney that was formed in 2002.

history

The band was formed in 2002 and released their first EP Mictlan that same year . The EP was followed in 2004 by the debut album Occasus on Listenable Records . In 2005, the band received the Best New Metal Band award from Australian Kerrang magazine. In addition, the band held their first live performances and went on tour all over Australia. In 2008, the second album followed, n0n , which was also released on Listenable Records. Various guest musicians such as Adam Darski ( Behemoth ), Jason Mendonca ( Akercocke ), Alex Pope ( Ruins ) and Sir Alice could be heard on the album . The year 2009 the band started with a European tour together with Deicide , Samael , Vader , Devian and Order of Ennead . This was followed by appearances in Australia and New Zealand with The Berzerker , Psycroptic and Ruins. At the beginning of 2010 a 40-gig tour through North America followed with Vader, Decrepit Birth , Warbringer , Augury , Swashbuckle and Rose Funeral . In 2011 another tour of Europe followed, as well as appearances in Australia together with Ruins. In the same year the band also recorded the next EP V01D , which was recorded at NON Studios and released exclusively as a download .

style

The band plays an aggressive mix of death and industrial metal, with some influences from the noise area being processed.
