Rose Funeral is a deathcore band from Cincinnati , Ohio , formed in 2005 .

history

Rose Funeral was founded in 2005 in Cincinnati , Ohio . In March 2006 the band released their demo CD Buried Beneath the Blood . The EP Crucify.Kill.Rot followed in August of the same year, which attracted the interest of various underground record companies for the first time.

After the signature with Siege of Amida Records , the EP was reissued on a professional level with two additional songs and a new cover. This was followed by concert tours through the United States and Canada with The Black Dahlia Murder , The Faceless , Unearth , Walls of Jericho and Becoming the Archetype, among others .

Due to the steadily growing popularity, Metal Blade Records became aware of the band and finally signed them. The debut album The Resting Sonata was released via Metal Blade . Shortly after the album was released, the group changed the entire line-up, so that it was reduced from five to three musicians. Guitarist Ryan Gardner also took on the role of singer , while he is supported by bassist Julian Kersey and lead guitarist Kevin Snook. For the album Gates of Punishment , released in 2011 , the trio brought drummer Dusty Boles on board, who left after the album was released.

style

Rose Funeral play the classic Deathcore on their first releases , which was specially designed for the use of breakdowns . With the album Gates of Punishment , the group turned to death metal and the use of breakdowns was scaled back. The music is borrowed from Black Metal and comparable to Hate Eternal, the middle-aged Morbid Angel or The Black Dahlia Murder . Nevertheless, the group had the reputation of a Suicide Silence or Whitechapel clone. The melodic song passages are also reminiscent of Death Metal from the Gothenburg school .
