Johannes Hildisch

Johannes Hildisch (born December 3, 1922 in Stolp , Pomerania ; † October 16, 2001 in Berlin ) was a German architect and numismatist .

Johannes Hildisch spent his youth in Pyritz and learned the mason trade there . In 1940 he began studying at the Stettin State Building School , which he had to break off in 1942 when he was drafted into the armed forces. He experienced the end of the war wounded in a hospital in Schwerin . Then he came to work as a structural engineer in the planning department of the Schwerin district building authority. In 1948 he began studying at the University of Architecture and Fine Arts Weimar , among others with Professor Hermann Henselmann , whom he followed to East Berlin . In 1950 he went to West Berlin . In 1954 he left the local college for fine arts with the academic degree of a graduate engineer . and founded his own office with Gerd Brand in 1959. In Westerland built Hildisch on Sylt the indoor saltwater swimming pool, and eg the 1995 in the Berlin districts of Charlottenburg and Westend under monument protection provided homes Helmholtzstraße 13/14 and Nußbaumallee 1/3. Hildisch went to Lüneburg in 1975 , where he was employed as a townscape keeper until 1983 .

Johannes Hildisch was involved in the Society for Pomeranian History, Archeology and Art , was elected to its board and appointed curator for numismatics. The Historical Commission for Pomerania appointed Hildisch to its full member. His coin catalog, published in 1980, became a much-cited standard work on the coinage of the Pomeranian dukes .
