Make Me Famous was a metalcore band from the Ukrainian city of Donetsk . It broke up in 2012 after differences between the singer and the rest of the band members.

history

founding

Make Me Famous was founded by Denis Shaforostov and consisted of Serj Kravchenko ( vocals ), Sergei Hohlov ( bass ), Igor (Jimmy X Rose) Yastrebov ( guitar ) and Dusty "DeeBee" Boles ( drums ). Before founding the band, Shaforostov released a few cover vocal videos that got a huge response on YouTube . The original drummer Jace Thomas had to leave the group for reasons unknown. Boles, who replaced Thomas on the same day, was active for the bands Serpents and Rose Funeral , among others .

On May 8, 2011, the group released a cover version of Bruno Mars ' Just the Way You Are . In 2011 a 3-track EP was released under the title Keep This in Your Music Player on their own. In the meantime, the group signed a record deal with the American label Sumerian Records .

Contract with Sumerian Records and debut album

On September 30, 2011, the group announced that they had signed with Sumerian Records via their YouTube channel. The musicians also announced that they would release an album in early 2012 and plan a US tour.

On October 2, 2011, We Know It's Real was the first official single released on iTunes . Between January 6 and January 29, 2012, the group toured the United States and Canada with I See Stars . The bands were accompanied by Memphis May Fire , Stick to Your Guns and Our Last Night . A second tour followed in March as support for For Today again with Stick to Your Guns. Other bands on this tour were A Skylit Drive and MyChildren MyBride . As part of this tour, the band played on the SXSW . Occasionally the group played with Born of Osiris and Asking Alexandria .

On February 27, 2012, the debut album called It's Now or Never could be pre-ordered. It was produced by musicians Serj Kravchenko and Denis Shaforostov. It was also announced that the album will be released in the US on March 27, 2012. It's Now or Never was released in Europe on April 13, 2012. Guest musicians include Tyler Carter (ex- Woe, Is Me ) and Johnny Franck (ex- Attack Attack! ). The album debuted at number 151 on the US charts. On February 28, 2012, the second single Make It Precious was released. The music video is on YouTube, the band's most watched video.

On November 29, 2012, Denis Shaforostov announced on his Facebook page that he had left the group for personal reasons. On the same day, Sumerian Records separated from the group due to problems within the band. A few hours later, the band announced their breakup, in which they blamed Shaforostov for the failure of the band.

The band plays metalcore and post-hardcore , which are mixed with elements of techno . This style is also known as trancecore . The group’s music can be compared to Asking Alexandria .
