Band history

The Fading was founded in 2003 under the name Excessum . After various line-up problems, the line-up of Ilia Badrov (vocals), Arie Aranowic (guitar), Leon Notik (guitar), Elad Manor (bass) and Shaked Furman (drums) recorded the EP Instruction for Self Destruction . Then Leon Notik was replaced by Jonathan Bar-Ilan. In 2006 the name was changed to The Fading .

In spring 2007 the group recorded the promo EP Chaos in Flesh with producer Jonas Kjellgren ( Scar Symmetry , Carnal Forge ). Afterwards Jonathan Bar-Ilan left the band again. Paul Mitiyanine got on for him. In Israel, the group took part in the preliminary round of the Wacken Metal Battle and won the competition that secured them a place on the festival's “Wet Stage”. On August 1, 2008, they secured overall victory and won a record deal with the Wacken Records label .

In 2009 the group recorded their debut album In Sin We'll Find Salvation at Abyss Studio, Sweden. The album was co-produced by Pelle Saether. It was released on August 1st, 2009 just in time for the Wacken Open Air 2009, where they were allowed to perform again. In spring 2010 they opened on a European tour for the bands Evile and Warbringer .

In September 2012 it was announced that guitarist Arie Aranovich and bassist Elad Manor, who have both played together with the band Hammercult since 2012 , have left the band. They were replaced by Alex Zvulun (guitar) and Eyal Ben Shushan from Eternal Gray on bass.

Music genre

According to their own statement, The Fading play a mixture of modern American metal and influences from the Swedish Neothrash of the 1990s. The band is strongly oriented towards the Gothenburg Melodic Death Metal style of Dark Tranquility , Darkane and Arch Enemy with double guitar leads and riffs and breaks that are strongly oriented towards rock music .
