Evile is an English Metal - band , which in 2004 Huddersfield was founded.

history

Originally founded as a cover band by school friends Matt Drake and Ben Carter, they asked Matt's brother Ol to fill the position on lead guitar shortly thereafter. After a quick search for a bass player, Mike Alexander called them and the line-up was complete.

After the band had recorded two self-released EPs All Hallows Eve and Hell , completed a small tour in Europe in 2006 and played in support of Exodus , Evile was signed by Earache Records . They recorded their debut album Enter the Grave in the Sweet Silence Studio in Copenhagen with producer Flemming Rasmussen ( Metallica , Morbid Angel , Blind Guardian ).

In 2008 they played as the opening act for the group Megadeth on their United Abominations Tour of Duty 2008 in Europe . In September 2009 their second album Infected Nations was released .

From October 2nd, 2009 Evile accompanied the Swedish band Amon Amarth as support on their autumn tour. After a few appearances, bassist Mike Alexander fell ill and was taken to Luleå hospital, where he died of pulmonary embolism on October 5, 2009 at the age of 32 . The remaining members then canceled the tour.

On December 16, 2009 it was officially announced that with Joel Graham (Rise To Addiction) a new bass player had been found. A tour with Warbringer and The Fading followed in spring 2010. They also played at various European festivals such as B. Wacken Open Air , Bloodstock Open Air and Hellfest . They are currently working on new songs for a future album.

In the summer of 2013, guitarist Ol Drake announced his departure. He now wants to devote more time to his private life and start a family.

In the summer of 2018, it was announced on the band's official Facebook page that Ol Drake would be back as lead guitarist.
