The Last Full Measure -

The Last Full Measure is the third album by the Swedish power metal band Civil War . It was released on November 11th, 2016. It is also the last album with singer Nils Patrik Johansson .

General

The album closes the trilogy that began with The Killer Angels . The trilogy was based on the title, but not in terms of content on the novels of the same name on the American Civil War by Jeff Shaara .

The two tracks Road to Victory and Tombstone were released as singles. An official poetry video was released for the former and a music video for the latter, which was directed by Owe Lingvall .

Nils Patrik Johansson was very positive about the album: “After 'The Killer Angels' and 'Gods & Generals', we are extremely proud and can't wait to share the last part of the trilogy! This is our best work so far, at least this is what we think, but I'm sure you won't be disappointed! "

The album was mixed and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren in the Black Lounge in July and August 2016. The graphic design and layout is by Peter Sallai , the photo in the booklet is by Ryan Garrison .

criticism

  • Katrin Riedl wrote for the Metal Hammer : “Soon one is inclined to assume that Civil War bring in a bit more dynamism than its 'big brother' [Sabaton], who delivers compelling hymns with greater accuracy. But we wanted to stop making comparisons: With The Last Full Measure , Civil War deliver a strong, contemporary Power Metal album that no genre fan can criticize! "
  • Johan Hagberg wrote for the Swedish Rocknytt :

“Dalarna's finest has been called Sabaton de senaste åren men de has definitely fått competitions of bandet vars huvuddel av medlemmarna varit en del sabaton tidigare. Det ska bli spännande att se hur Civil War går vidare efter det här. Plattan 'The Last Full Measure' for betyg godkänt […] ”

“Dalarna's best has been dubbed Sabaton in the last few years, but they've definitely gotten competition from this band, most of whose members used to be with Sabaton themselves. It will be exciting to see how Civil War develops after that. The album 'The Last Full Measure' gets a good report [...] "
