Urs Janett (born May 31, 1976 ) is a Swiss politician. He is entitled to live in Zillis-Reischen in the canton of Graubünden and in the city of Zurich .

He studied law from 1996 to 2001 at the University of Bern and at the University of Wales in Cardiff and graduated with a lic. iur. from. He also obtained the English Legal Diploma. After obtaining his lawyer degree, he preferred to work in the areas of human resources and law. Before he moved into the Uri government on June 1, 2016, he worked at the Federal Administrative Court in St. Gallen as Secretary General. When he took office as a member of the government of the canton of Uri , he took over the finance department, which he has headed to date. For the period from June 1, 2020 to May 31, 2022, he holds the office of governor (government vice-president).

Urs Janett lives in Altdorf , where he was a local councilor from 2007 to 2016, including seven years as an administrator. He is a member of the Free Democratic Party (FDP), for which he was General Secretary of the Uri Cantonal Party from 2003 to 2009.

Urs Janett is married and has two children.
