Humbert II (Montpensier)

Humbert II. De Beaujeu († before November 14, 1285) was a lord of Montpensier and Connétable of France from the House of Beaujeu . He was the son of Guichard II. De Beaujeu, lord of Montpensier, the brother of Humbert V. de Beaujeu .

He took part in the Sixth Crusade under Louis IX. to Egypt (1248-1250) part, commanded the infantry in the battle of Mansurah on February 8, 1250. In 1277 he became Connétable of France as the successor of his cousin Guichard V. de Beaujeu .

Before July 25, 1276 he married Isabelle de Mello , 1257/1301 mistress of Saint-Maurice-Thizouaille , daughter of Guillaume de Mello the Younger and widow of Guillaume III, Count of Joigny . They had a daughter, Jeann de Beaujeu, who inherited Montpensier and died in January 1308. She married Johann II , Count von Dreux and Braine († March 7, 1309) in 1292 and brought the dominion of Montpensier to the House of France-Dreux .
