The Humpback Rocks are a small group of cliff rocks off the north coast of South Georgia . They are located 400 m north of Cape Saunders .
The South Georgia Survey , when surveyed between 1951 and 1952, reported that the rocks have long been known as Knolrokset ( Norwegian for humpback rock ) among Norwegian whale and seal hunters . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this descriptive name into English in 1954.
