The Hunagata Iwa ( Japanese 舟 形 岩 'boat rock' ) is a hill in the shape of an upturned boat on the Crown Prince Olav Coast in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . It rises on the northern foothills of Shinnan Rocks .
Japanese scientists took aerial photographs in 1962 and carried out surveys in 1974. They named it descriptively in 1977 after its shape.
