Hundseck is a small place at 884 m on the Black Forest High Road . The residential area belongs to the communities of Bühl , Bühlertal and Ottersweier , the ski lift to Bühlertal. It is located south of the Mehliskopf at the confluence of the L 80b, which comes from the Hundsbach district of Forbach , into the Black Forest High Road . Several cross-country skiing trails and hiking trails run from here. At Hundseck there is a ski slope with a lift, an associated inn, a ski hut, several leisure homes and residential buildings. The Kurhaus, which was partially demolished in 2012 and later became the Knappschaftsheim, is striking.
Kurhaus Hundseck
The Kurhaus Hundseck was built in the 19th century and was initially a hotel . Later a ski slope with a ski jump was built, which is no longer in use today. In 1957 the house was bought by the Ruhrknappschaft Bochum and used as a resort for the miners from the Ruhr area. During Hurricane Lothar , the house was so shaken that it was considered to be in danger of collapsing. After that it was auctioned several times and at the end of 2012 it was partially demolished.
