Hungarian Open

The Hungarian Open was an annual squash tournament for men from 1993 to 1998 and again from 2004 to 2006 in Budapest , Hungary .

The first edition in 1993 was a Category 1 Star with prize money of US $ 10,000. The prize money and with it the rating category rose annually and reached its highest value in 1996 with 30,000 US dollars and category 3 star , which was also held in the two following years. The tournament was not held between 1998 and 2004 before it was added to the tour calendar again for three years from 2004. Initially as a category 4 star tournament with prize money of 40,000 US dollars, it was finally held in 2005 and 2006 as a category 5 star tournament with prize money of 50,000 US dollars.

With tournament wins in 1997 and 2004, Jonathon Power is the only player to have won the tournament more than once. Most of the finals were made by Grégory Gaultier , who reached the final in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
