Hunted: The Demon's Forge is an action - video game that takes place in a dark fantasy world. The game was developed by inXile Entertainment and published by Bethesda Softworks for Windows , PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 .

Gameplay

The game has a cooperative multiplayer with online, split screen and LAN function. E'lara has a bow and small weapons, Caddoc has larger melee weapons and a crossbow. Players have the opportunity to explore large areas; however, the gameplay is mostly linear with many points of no return. Players can use spells to help in battle.

The game supports national cooperative play on all platforms. But the random match-making function is regional on PC and Playstation 3 and national on Xbox 360.

E'lara and Caddoc go in search of a mysterious artifact that Caddoc had a vision of, but events spiral out of control and the companions become embroiled in a series of events.

Hunted has a similar title and fantasy setting to Brian Fargo's first published video game: The Demon's Forge .

Matt Findley, president of inXile Entertainment , said Hunted's game mechanics are largely based on his team's experience of co-op gaming and the ideas that emerged from it.

Before the game was released, Findley announced that there would be a sequel if the first game got enough commercial success. The follow-up game wouldn't necessarily be a direct sequel, possibly a prequel or a new story.

Hunted received average ratings across all platforms , according to Metacritic , the video game reviews aggregator. In Japan, where the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions were ported for release on August 25, 2011. Famitsu rated both console versions with two sevens, an eight and a seven for a rating of 29 points.

The Escapist rated the Xbox 360 version three stars out of five and said, “Good for a quick and fun change, Hunted is far from perfect co-op or fantasy dungeon crawling, but storytelling almost makes it back up. Nearly."

Digital Spy rated the Xbox 360 version three stars out of five and said, "The squishy graphics and the often questionable design choices make the campaign seem like a chore at times."

The Daily Telegraph rated the Xbox 360 version six out of ten and said, “A game good enough to play through, but certainly a game that was quickly forgotten. It's the kind of game that is perfect for a downturn. "
