Hussein bin Abdullah ( Arabic الحسين بن عبد الله, DMG al-Ḥusain b. ʿAbd Allaah ; *  June 28,  1994 in Amman ) is the Crown Prince of Jordan . He is the eldest son of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania .

In 2004 King Abdullah II surprisingly dismissed his half-brother Prince Hamza bin al-Hussein from the office of Crown Prince. The decision caused a stir in Jordan as King Abdullah II revoked an amendment to the constitution in order to strengthen his own position.

This made Prince Hussein, then ten years old, the first heir to the throne under the Jordanian constitution. However, the official appointment to crown prince came shortly after his 15th birthday in 2009.

After graduating from Georgetown University in Washington, DC with a degree in international history , Prince Hussein began training at Sandhurst Military Academy . He successfully completed this in 2017.

He has been the patron of the Allgäu-Orient-Rallye since 2014 .
