The anthem of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic ( Lithuanian : Lietuvos Respublikos Tarybų Socialistinės himnas ) was the official national anthem of Lithuania during the period when the country was part of the Soviet Union as the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic (LiSSR) . It was used between 1950 and 1990. After Lithuania regained independence, it was replaced by the former national anthem Tautiška giesmė by Vincas Kudirka . The composers of the hymn were Balys Dvarionas and Jonas Švedas and the lyrics were by Antanas Venclova .

Tarybinę Lietuvą liaudis sukūrė,
Už laisvę ir tiesą kovojus ilgai.
Kur Vilnius, Kur Nemunas, Baltijos jūra,
Ten klesti mūs miestai, derlingi laukai.
Refrain:
Tarybų Sąjungoj šlovingoj,
Tarp lygių lygi ir laisva,
Gyvuok per amžius, būk laiminga,
Brangi Tarybų Lietuva!
Į laisvę mums Leninas nušvietė kelią,
Padėjo kovoj didi rusų tauta.
Mus Partija veda į laimę ir galią,
Tautų mūs draugystė kaip plienas tvirta.

Soviet Lithuania was created by the people who long fought for freedom and truth. Where Vilnius, where Nemunas, where the Baltic Sea, there let our cities and fields flourish
Refrain:
In the glorious Soviet Union,
Among equals, equal and free, live forever, be happy, dear Soviet Lithuania!
Lenin paved the way for us to freedom. The great Russian people helped in the struggle. The party leads us to happiness and power, the friendship of nations is solid as steel.

The homeland is powerful and does not fear danger. May the heavens be peaceful and pure. With our work we will create a better tomorrow. And the beginning of communism will light up the earth.
