As hyporeflexia ( reflection attenuation ) is the attenuation of one or more reflexes referred to in contrast to areflexia , in which the reflexes canceled or hyperreflexia , wherein they are reinforced abnormal.
More common causes include:
- Muscular disorders ( myopathy ), myasthenia
- Nerve disorders ( neuropathy ), poliomyelitis
- Diseases of the spine ( spondylosis )
- Disorders of the electrolyte balance such as hypermagnesaemia , potassium deficiency
- Metabolic disorders such as 3-methylglutacone aciduria, type 4
- Different forms of ataxias
- Poisoning
- Congenital diseases ( syndromes )
