Íñigo Vélez de Mendizábal Fernández de Garaialde , Íñigo for short (born March 15, 1982 in Vitoria-Gasteiz ), is a Spanish football player who plays for Deportivo Xerez in the Spanish Segunda División .

Player career

Íñigo started his career as a footballer in the second team of Espanyol Barcelona . There he played in the 2003/2004 season and was successful five times in 25 games. The native Basque then moved to his home country and played for SD Eibar for three years . The fourth place in 2004/2005 was followed by relegation as bottom of the table. In the 2006/2007 season he went with his crew but also directly again from the Segunda División B on. Despite the promotion, Iñigo left his club to play in the top division. In the summer of 2007 he signed a contract with newly promoted Real Murcia .

After a season that was personally successful for him, he left Murcia after a year after relegation and signed a contract with the traditional Basque club Athletic Bilbao . There he could not assert himself and was transferred to the second division CD Numancia a year later . After two seasons and more than 60 missions, he moved to league rivals Deportivo Xerez and signed a one-year contract there.
