Arsen Dedic
Arsen Dedić (born July 28, 1938 in Šibenik , Kingdom of Yugoslavia , † August 17, 2015 in Zagreb ) was a Yugoslav or Croatian musician and poet.
Life
Dedić's father was Serbian, mother Croatian. He became known in the 1960s through Dalmatian folklore and the Croatian music festival. Over time, Dedić became one of the most famous Yugoslav musicians. In 1982 he received the Tenco Prize for Songwriters.
In addition to songs, Dedić also wrote film music. He is also an excellent poet and bestselling author of the former Yugoslavia. The pieces Brod u Boci (Croatia Concert, Zagreb, 1971), Hotel Balkan (Znanje, Zagreb, 1987), 101 Pjesma (Svjetlost, Sarajevo, 1989) had outstanding success .
Arsen Dedić had been married to Gabi Novak , a well-known Croatian pop singer , since 1973 .
Arsen Dedic died on August 17, 2015 at the age of 77.
Arsen's brother Milutin Dedić is a well-known painter, art historian and lives in Belgrade .
His son Matija Dedić is a well-known jazz musician.
