Tenco Prize

The Premio Tenco is an Italian music award that has been given annually since 1974 at the Rassegna della canzone d'autore (in German: Festival of the Authors' Song ) of the Club Tenco . The name of the award pays homage to the Italian cantautore Luigi Tenco .

The Tenco Prize honors songwriters from all over the world who are of outstanding importance for the author's song . The artist's life's work is always honored.

Within the festival, the best Italian artists of the year are awarded the Targa Tenco in various categories . Since 2006, in addition to the Tenco Prize for songwriters , a prize for personalities of culture (Operatori culturali) and the I Suoni della musica (in German: "The sounds of music") prize have been awarded.
