Lotte Hartmann-Kottek-Schroeder (* 1937 in Znojmo , Czechoslovakia ) is a German teaching therapist in Gestalt therapy .

Life

Lotte Kottek was born in 1937 as the daughter of the district administrator of Znojmo, the lawyer Alfred Kottek, and the concert pianist Elfriede Kottek in the former Sudetenland , now the Czech Republic . After fleeing in 1945 she grew up in Eßlingen am Neckar , where she graduated from high school in modern language and music in 1956. She then began studying psychology in Tübingen , which she completed in 1960 with a diploma in Freiburg . In 1957 she also took up a degree in medicine , which she continued after completing her pre-physics course in Tübingen in Freiburg and Vienna . In 1963 she passed the medical state examination in Freiburg. 1964 followed by the doctorate on an experimental topic on group psychotherapy. After working as a medical assistant in Berlin , she received her license to practice medicine in 1966 . Initially, she trained as a specialist in internal medicine in Rüdesheim am Rhein , Essen and Gelsenkirchen, and after becoming a specialist in 1972, she took on the position of chief physician at the Freyung district hospital . In the same year she began her specialist training in neurology and psychiatry at the University of Bonn , which she graduated in 1976, taught medical psychology here and received an additional teaching position in "neurological examination course" at the university mental hospital. Also in 1976 she gained the additional title of "Psychotherapy" and in 1995 she was awarded the additional title of "Psychotherapeutic Medicine" by the State Medical Association of Hesse. In addition to her job, she trained as a Gestalt therapist and received the status of teaching therapist in 1978. From 1977 to 1980 Hartmann-Kottek taught clinical psychology and Gestalt therapy at the University of Freiburg , from 1981 to 1982 and 1988 psychosomatics at the Philipps University of Marburg, and from 1986 to 1987 psychoanalysis and Gestalt therapy as a visiting professor at the University of Kassel . In addition, she was head of the psychiatric-psychotherapeutic department in Bad Zwesten . Lotte Hartmann-Kottek's first marriage was to the surgeon H. Hartmann from 1969 to 1970 and her second marriage to W. Schroeder from 1982 to 1992. She has lived in Kassel since 1984.

Her book Gestalt therapy , published in 2004 and an expanded edition in 2008, is considered a German-language basic work for this area; the third edition was published in 2012.
