The IAI 1124 Westwind is a business jet from the Israeli manufacturer Israel Aircraft Industries for 10 passengers. The middle decker has a retractable nose wheel landing gear and a pressurized cabin . Except for the modified engines, it corresponds to the IAI 1123 Commodore Jet . The prototype of the 1123 started in September 1970. By the time production was switched to the 1124 with turbofan engines in mid-1976 , 36 machines had been built. The 1124 can accommodate 10 passengers. There is also a marine surveillance variant , the 1124N Sea Scan .

At the end of the 1970s the type was further developed into the 1124A. The IAI 1124A Westwind II has a new sigma wing , which gives it a much greater range. The first flight of the 1124A took place in April 1979. Production ended in 1987 after 244 machines of all versions were delivered. The successor is the IAI 1125 Astra .
