The IFK Kalix is a Swedish football club in Kalix in the province of Norrbotten County . The team played two seasons in the second division in the 1960s .
history
The IFK Kalix initially only played lower class. 1953 succeeded for the first time promotion to Division 3 Norra Norrland , in which the team played against relegation. In 1957 she missed relegation as bottom of the table, but managed to get promoted again. This time the promoted player played in the front area and achieved as a season winner in 1960 promotion to the second-rate Division 2 Norrland . After two seasons, the club had to relegate back to bottom together with Bodens BK and Skellefteå IF .
After relegation, the IFK Kalix first established itself in the front area of the third division. In 1965, however, the team missed relegation here too and rose again to fourth division. Behind Gällivare SK she took second place there before being promoted again in 1967. The club could not establish itself long-term in the third division and rose again in 1970. In the following years, the team regularly took second place in their fourth division and rose again in 1975 as a season winner in the third division. This time the team stayed at the league level for a long time. 1986 succeeded the third division championship, in the promotion games the club failed after a 1-1 draw and a 0-2 defeat at IFK Mora . Two years later there was only one win of the season, so that the team had to be relegated as bottom of the table. In the following year she also occupied a relegation place in the fourth division, so that she said goodbye to higher-class football. In 1990, the bandy division , which had been operated to date, split off from the club and went on to become Kalix-Nyborg BK .
In 1993 IFK Kalix returned to the now fourth-class Division 3 Norra Norrland , where the team established itself in the rear. 1998 succeeded the runner-up, in the subsequent promotion round it failed in the first round. As bottom of the table two years later, she rose again to the fifth division. There the team established itself in midfield, before it fell victim to a league reform in 2005 and was integrated into the sixth-class Division IV Norrbotten Norra . There she drew a regular promotion round in the following years, but missed the return to the fifth division.
