The ILT Stadium Southland in Invercargill is a multifunctional sports complex with a cycle track .

The sports complex consists of a sports hall and a cycling track in another building. This is called SIT Zerofees Velodrome and is one of two indoor cycling tracks in New Zealand , along with the Avantidrome in Cambridge . In 2000, the New Zealand Track Championships, which were held on the Kew Bowl open track , were severely affected by rain. Out of this experience, the desire for a covered cycling track arose. It was decided to build an indoor cycling track next to the Southland Stadium .

The SIT Zerofees Velodrome was built for 11 million New Zealand dollars raised from private donations. It has a 250 meter long wooden track and has a curve superelevation of 43.2 degrees. The cycle race track was planned by the Münster architect Ralph Schürmann and executed by Calder Stewart . In May 2006 the Velodrome was opened after a construction period of 57 weeks. It is located in the Southland stadium complex and is also used for ball sports after the stadium's roof collapsed after heavy snowfall in September 2010. The Velodrom also houses an office building for the sports administration.

2,012 were in IT Zerofees Velodrome the UCI Juniors Track World Championships 2012 held. The New Zealand track championships have taken place here several times. The Velodrome is the central training facility for the New Zealand national rail team.
