The Avantidrome is a sports complex and cycle track in Cambridge, New Zealand . Along with the ILT Velodrome in Invercargill, the track is one of two indoor cycling tracks in the country.

The Avantidrome was planned from 2010 and built in the course of 2013. On April 12, 2014, the Velodrome was opened in the presence of the British heir to the throne William and his wife Kate , who hold the official titles of Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The cycle track complies with UCI standards with a length of 250 meters and is made of Siberian spruce . It was planned by the Münster railway architect Ralph Schürmann . There is space for 1500 spectators in the stands; the capacity can be increased to 4000 seats if necessary.

The entire building complex spans an area of 10,000 square meters and, in addition to the cycling track itself, houses fitness and conference rooms, a bicycle shop and a café. There is also the Gallagher Bike Skills Park , where cyclists can train their skills. The Avantidrome is located on the 70-kilometer Te Awa Cycleway from Ngāruawāhia to Horahora .

As the first international event, the second run of the Track Cycling World Cup 2015/16 will be held in the Avantidrome in December 2015 .
