The ISA SpA - Industria Servizi Agroalimentari is an Italian wholesaler . The core business of the Villacidro- based company is supplying retailers in the Sardinia region with food and non-food products for private consumption. The company also provides centralized services for its affiliated partners. ISA also has its own retail chain and various production facilities. The ISA Group operates a total of 53 of its own as well as 400 affiliated stores and achieved a turnover of 227 million euros in 2006.
The ISA group emerged from the merging of the activities led by Giovanni Muscas over the years. Muscas began reselling fruits and vegetables in the mid-1960s . In the early 1980s, he expanded his business activities to include wholesale with the construction of a distribution and warehouse facility . With the takeover of Industria Sarda Agroalimentari srl, which was renamed the joint stock company ISA SpA - Industria Servizi Agroalimentari in 1992, its activities experienced a significant growth spurt. Between 1999 and 2002 Muscas took over several production companies in the food industry . The group now comprises a total of 19 companies.
