The Inline-Sport-Club Mannheim e. V. is a registered association based in Mannheim . The club specializes in team sport inline hockey and is part of the Inline Hockey Germany sports department of the DRIV . The club has around 250 members, making it the largest inline hockey club in Baden-Württemberg .

He is represented in the league with four men's and four youth teams. All teams of the club start under the nickname "Monsters Mannheim". The ISC plays in the top German division in the 1st Bundesliga. The home games are played by the ISC teams in the old Adler Mannheim venue, the Friedrichspark Stadium.

Since 2014, the club has had a roller derby department with the Rhein-Neckar Delta Quads .

history

Founded in 2005, the ISC Mannheim started the IHD game operations with two men's teams. On May 20, 2006, the ISC opened the venerable Adler Mannheim venue . The Friedrichspark was structurally modeled according to the international requirements for inline hockey . With regard to this, the biggest project, the "building of gangs", was completed on time for the start of the 2006 season. In the summer of 2010, a new, comprehensively closed Plexiglas gang was built.

A new branch of inline hockey was formed. At first there were only two teams in the IHD-Bundesliga and the IHD-Oberliga Baden-Württemberg, which a third team joined towards the end of the year due to the steadily growing number of members, which represented the ISC Mannheim in the IHD-Landesliga in 2007. In the following year a fourth team could even be welcomed, which started together with the third in the IHD regional league. Both existing men's teams are currently playing in the Oberliga Hessen.

In 2008, the ISC Mannheim, in cooperation with the DPL Die Players Liga, started an official inline league so that the hockey fun for ice hockey players continues even in the warm season. Some of the well-known teams that are already contesting the DPL's ice hockey season, swap runners for rollers in the summer and cross clubs on the inline parquet.

The ISC continues to bring organizational events of the association (IHD) to Mannheim. Referee and national team courses are held in the Friedrichspark at home. Since the 2011 season, the ISC Mannheim has been playing under the team name "Monsters".

In the 2011 season, the ISC Mannheim also took part in the ISHD Regionalliga Süd-West in inline skate hockey . In the first season the Mannheimers were direct champions and in the 2012 season rose to the 2nd Bundesliga South . Since there were not enough players for the 2nd Bundesliga in inline skater hockey and in the 1st Bundesliga in inline hockey, the skater hockey team was withdrawn from play during the season.

The most successful years in the club's history began in 2015. After the dissolution of the IHD-Bundesliga, the Mannheimers started in cooperation with the Eisfüchsen Viernheim in the Oberliga Hessen in the umbrella organization HRIV. Right from the start you could build up a dominance, which was expanded with the championship titles in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

The long-awaited successes should also follow on a nationwide level. After the tournaments for the German championship in 2015 and 2016 were just barely successful and the Baunatal penguins had to give way, the first German championship was brought to the city of squares in 2017.

This successful era was rounded off by winning the IHD Cup in November 2017.

A new inline hockey hall is planned by 2019. Bringing the World Championship to Mannheim is another ambitious goal of the ISC.

Stadium at Friedrichspark

The Adler Mannheim ice hockey stadium, which was reactivated in 2006, has a playing area of 25 m × 50 m. This area corresponds in size and equipment to international standards and is approved for international games.

In the main cabin wing there are six large changing rooms, a referee's booth, a jersey room as well as an office and a conference room. In the attached building there are sanitary facilities, shower facilities, a first aid room and a hockey shop. There are also three large conference rooms available for all kinds of training and meetings.

All kinds of events and sporting activities take place in the stadium at Friedrichspark, such as the training camps for national teams and senior and junior teams. Referee and coaching courses are also held.

The hall is currently occupied by more than 200 athletes of various ages from Monday to Sunday. But there are also numerous rental teams and events. Here is a short list of the highlights that have already taken place:

  • IHD German Cup 2017
  • IHL German Cup 2006
  • Men's national team course 2016
  • Junior national team course 2006
  • Referee course 2007
  • C-Trainer course 2007
